This summit is in reserve land on Hauturu road. It is not far from the road however there is no track to the summit so it is a tricky one. A good map and compass is required to navigate to this one as it is very easy to get spun around in this bush and point the wrong way. Do not rely on a smartphone compass. A smartphone map is handy but a real compass is essential.
There are a few small streams to cross but nothing to serious. I did find one stream on the way out that had cut a 2 metre deep channel – I found a different path as crossing it looked to dangerous.
Sorry for the lack of photos – all to see was the inside of trees and you can see how dense the bush is from this. It took almost 1.5 hours each way from the road side to the summit.
I was lucky to grab a few summit to summit contacts from here, totaling 16 S2S points for the log. Combined with 2 activator points and another unique this was a successful outing. One casualty however was my walking pole, which after standing on a rotten branch that gave way developed a 90 degree bend 
my thumb also took a sprain. Shame as that walking pole had been up quite a few summits from pre SOTA days.
